MERKEL, TX (10/14/2016) — Tammie Hill was killed, and Leslie Stadler was seriously injured in an 18-wheeler collision on Friday.
Authorities have identified 38-year-old Tammie Lynn Hill (of Trent) and 48-year-old Leslie Sue Stadler (of Sweetwater) as the victims of a fatal 18-wheeler wreck that happened on Interstate 20 in Merkel, Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), reported that 27-year-old Gerald Mason Decker was traveling westbound in a 2012 Freightliner semi-trailer when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed into oncoming traffic, and collided with a 2012 Toyota Camry—driven by Stalder—and a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban—driven by Hill.
Hill did not survive the accident.
Stadler was transported to Hendrick Medical Center with incapacitating injuries. Her current condition is unknown.
This accident remains under investigation.

Officials are currently working to determine what caused the driver to veer into wrong way traffic.
