JASPER COUNTY, TX (10/31/2016) — A serious car accident on Highway 62 left Hector Lopez and Jamie Pittman seriously injured Monday night.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has identified 18-year-old Hector Lopez (of Vidor) as the victim of a head-on collision that happened on Highway 62 (near Old Champion Road) in far southeast Jasper County, Texas.
DPS reported that at around 7:45 p.m., 37-year-old Jamie Ray Pittman (of Colmesneil) was traveling northbound in a 2006 Chevrolet SUV, when Pittman crossed into southbound traffic and collided with a 1999 Toyota pickup truck, driven by Lopez.
Both drivers were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
This accident remains under investigation.
