GARRISON, TX (11/11/2016) — A head-on accident caused by a drunk driver claimed the life of Richard Roberts on Friday night.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 49-year-old Richard Roberts (of Nacogdoches) was killed in a two-vehicle accident along Highway 59 near County Road 286 in Garrison, Texas.
The DPS reported that shortly after 6:30 p.m., 41-year-old Bronson Holmes was traveling northbound in a 2015 Dodge pickup truck when he crossed into southbound traffic and struck a 2007 Ford passenger vehicle, driven by Roberts, head-on.
Roberts did not survive the wreckage. Holmes was arrested for intoxication manslaughter.
An investigation is ongoing.
