ARP, TX (12/06/2016) — A Tuesday night accident claimed the life of Geraldine Clark and injured one other person.
According to authorities, 71-year-old Geraldine Clark (of Troup) was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 64 near Arp, Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that at around 6:00 p.m., 31-year-old Destiny Simpson was traveling westbound in a 2011 Hyundai Sonata when she struck a westbound 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac—driven by Clark—that was attempting to make a left turn into a private drive.
The initial impact sent Clark’s vehicle into oncoming traffic where it was struck head-on by a 2017 Toyota Camry, driven by 64-year-old George Brown (of Henderson).
Clark lost her life in the wreckage. Simpson was transported to a Tyler hospital in stable condition.
An investigation is underway.
