DENTON, TX (12/18/2016) — Police looking for two reckless drivers following Sunday’s fatal accident on University Drive in Denton.
According to authorities, 27-year-old Cameron Rice (of Aubrey) was killed in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred in the 9900 block of East University Drive (US-380) in Denton, Texas.
Police reported that shortly after 1:00 p.m., the drivers of a white Jeep Cherokee (with large off-road tires and a rear-window decal reading “Rough Country”) and a black Nissan Infiniti G35 were driving recklessly—and possibly racing—when the Jeep made an unsafe lane change in front of a 2005 Cadillac CTS, driven by Rice.
Rice attempted to make an evasive maneuver, but lost control of his vehicle which veered into oncoming traffic, where he struck a Toyota RAV4 and a Chevrolet Cruze.
Rice lost his life in the wreckage.
Officials stated that the two drivers of the Toyota and Chevrolet—identified only as a 62-year-old woman and a 54-year-old woman—were transported to Denton Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
