LUFKIN, TX (01/20/2017) — An accident near the Lufkin State-Supported Living Center on Friday left two people injured.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 18-year-old Vaughn Turner Jr. (of Lufkin) was injured following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 69 in Lufkin, Texas.
The DPS reported that 26-year-old Brian Weaver was driving a 2008 Hyundai when he turned into the path of a 2010 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by Turner.
Turner was transported to an emergency clinic in Lufkin via private vehicle; his current condition is unknown.
Weaver was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Hospital for treatment.
This accident remains under investigation.

Officials have not stated whether or not charges will be filed against the driver who caused this collision. However, this accident does appear to be a case of failure to yield right-of-way, if the details reported are in fact accurate.
