ROCKWALL, TX (02/11/2017) — One man has died following a two-vehicle accident that occurred on I-30 Saturday afternoon.
Details of this fatal truck accident are still very limited at this time, but preliminary reports indicate that one man has died following an accident which occurred on westbound Interstate 30 (on the west side of the Lake Ray Hubbard bridge), in Rockwall, Texas.
According to one witness report, the driver of a white single-cab Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck was traveling westbound on I-30 in the far-right lane when he lost control of his vehicle, veered left across lanes of traffic, and crashed into the concrete barrier wall. Shortly after the initial collision, a white 18-wheeler—which was traveling in the far left lane—collided with the driver’s side of the pickup truck.
Another witness reported seeing the rear axle of the pickup truck violently bouncing up and down prior to the initial crash, and suggested that the pickup truck may have suffered from a mechanical problem shortly before crashing.
DPS is currently investigating.
