CUERO, TX (02/13/2017) — A rear-end crash on Monday morning claimed the life of Keith Edward Hans.
Police reported that 49-year-old Keith Edward Hans (of Cuero) was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 87 near Rainbow Road in Cuero, Texas.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper Ruben San Miguel stated that at around 7:45 a.m., a 2016 Mack cement mixing truck, driven by 27-year-old Ardee Adam Faultersatk (of Cuero), turned right onto the highway. Shortly after, a 2006 Honda sedan—driven by Hans—slammed into the rear of the truck.
Hans was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause for this collision is currently under investigation by the DPS.
Commentary
Officials have not filed any criminal charges, however a toxicology report was ordered. Details are still limited at this time, but an investigation should reveal why the accident occurred, and whether or not the truck driver failed to yield prior to entering the highway from a side road.
