ODESSA, TX (02/21/2017) — Fidel Rubalcada Sr. is in critical condition following a car-vs-bicycle accident on Tuesday afternoon.
According to authorities, 47-year-old Fidel Rubalcada, Sr. (of Midland) was hospitalized in critical condition following a bicycle accident in the 8400 block of East Highway 191 in Odessa, Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that at around 1:45 p.m., the driver of a 2017 GMC Sierra was traveling eastbound on the south service road of Highway 191 when he or she collided with an eastbound bicycle, ridden by Rubalcada.
Rubalcada was ejected from the bicycle and into a fence. He was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
An investigation is underway.
