HUNTINGTON, TX (08/11/2015) – Two teenagers, 19-year-old Karina Morado and 14-year-old Kaitlyn Morado, were injured in a head-on crash Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Connie Edwards Whatley, 59, Karina Morado, 19, and Kaitlyn Morado, 14, were all injured following a head-on collision on Highway 69 near Huntington, Texas on Tuesday afternoon.
The preliminary crash report determined that at around 1:54 p.m., a 2015 Nissan Versa (driven by Whatley) was traveling northbound when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck a Ford Mustang, driven by Morado, head-on.
Karina and Kaitlyn Morado were both taken to a Lufkin hospital with unknown injuries; they have since been released.
Whatley was flown to Trinity Mother Frances in Tyler, Texas and is listed in fair condition.
This accident remains under investigation.
