GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (06/18/2015) — A Grand Prairie police officer was injured after his vehicle was rear-ended on I-30 during a traffic stop in Grand Prairie, Texas on Thursday morning.
According to reports, a Grand Prairie police officer was injured after his squad car was struck during a traffic stop on Interstate 30 near Belt Line Road in Grand Prairie, Texas on Thursday morning.
A police spokesman stated that the officer was outside of his car on I-30 after pulling over a black SUV around 11:30 a.m. when a westbound blue SUV rear-ended the officer’s squad car, pushing both him and the patrol vehicle into the black SUV. The officer’s vehicle was totaled in the collision.
The officer was hospitalized with minor injuries to his arm.
“He was more overwhelmed by the accident happening in front of him,” Officer Lyle Gensler said.
