SANGER, TX (10/20/2014) — A Monday afternoon head-on accident in Denton County has claimed the life of 30-year-old April Moore, and left three others hospitalized – including two children.
According to DPS officials, a red Hyundai Accent was traveling westbound on FM 455 / E. Chapman Drive (near the curve on the hill and east of Sanger High School), when the vehicle crossed the double yellow line and into the the path of a white Mitsubishi Endeavor SUV heading eastbound. The head-on collision, which happened at about 3:50 p.m., was so severe that it even caused the SUV to roll over.
The driver of the Hyundai Accent, 30-year-old April Moore, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Her two child passengers (an 8-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy) were transported to local hospitals. One was taken by air ambulance (CareFlite) to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, while the other was taken by ambulance to Denton Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the Mitsubishi Endeavor, 42-year-old Reece Dunn, had to be extracted from the badly-damaged SUV, and was taken by air ambulance to Medical Center of Plano for treatment of serious injuries.
