An 18 wheeler transporting glue spilled its cargo after it collided with a train in South Dallas.
According to WFAA news, nobody was injured during today’s accident which lead to the closure of the area around Lenway and Lamar. There’s been no official word yet as to what caused the accident. Texas truck accident lawyer Jeff Rasansky is just glad everyone involved will make it home to their families alive tonight.
Train accidents are (thankfully) rare in comparison to other motor vehicle wrecks. In 2010, there were only 803 reported incidents throughout the state of Texas (this information is publicly available on the Federal Railroad Administration’s website). Nonetheless, these accidents tend to be more serious. Railroad vehicles are heavier and move at a higher velocity than most cars – meaning impact with one can cause much more damage.
Drive safely, Dallas (and watch out for trains).
