SPRINGTOWN, TX (12/05/2014) — Three people, including a reporter from a Dallas talk radio station, have been seriously injured in a Friday night head-on crash.
The accident occurred on Farm to Market 51 near Farm to market 2048 (about 5 miles north of Springtown and 30 miles Northwest of Fort Worth) at around 7:45 p.m Friday Night. According to DPS Sgt. Lonny Haschel, the driver of a Ford F250 pickup truck was traveling southbound on FM 51 when the vehicle crossed into northbound traffic and struck a Toyota Camry head-on. The Camry, which had a WBAP logo, was being driven by 30-year-old WBAP reporter Alan Scaia.
Alan Scaia and a passenger from the pickup were taken by air ambulance (Air Evac Lifeteam 68, PHI helicopter) to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. The driver of the pickup truck was taken by ground ambulance to Wise Regional Health System in Decatur. Scaia’s condition was upgraded from critical to serious over the weekend. The conditions of the other victims have not been released.
