MCKINNEY, TX (03/06/2017) — A Monday morning multi-vehicle accident on Highway 380 in McKinney has left two people dead and several injured.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) identified Alfred and Angela Mock (both of Princeton) as the two victims of a fatal accident that occurred on US 380, just east of County Road 330, in McKinney, Texas.
According to DPS Sgt. Lonny Haschel, officers were called to the scene of the accident at about 2:15 p.m. Monday afternoon. Hatchel stated that the accident occurred when the driver of a westbound white Ford Escape SUV apparently sideswiped a westbound Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling in the left lane. As a result of the collision, the pickup truck veered into eastbound lanes of traffic where it collided with a tan Chevrolet Suburban SUV head-on. Shortly after the initial collision, the Suburban was then struck by a tanker truck traveling eastbound.
The driver of the Suburban, 86-year-old Alfred R. Mock, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. One passenger, 60-year-old Angela Mock, was taken to Medical City McKinney Hospital but later died from her injuries. The two other occupants of the Suburban, 81-year-old Billy Mock (of Princeton) and 31-year-old Timothy Mock (of Midlothian), were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
The 16-year-old driver of the Dodge Ram was transported via air ambulance (CareFlite) to Medical Center of Plano for treatment of serious injuries, while his three teenage passengers were also transported to area hospitals via ground ambulance.
The driver of the tanker truck—55-year-old Jeffery Hollomon—and his passenger, 57-year-old Sandra Hollomon (both of Farmersville), were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford Escape, 17-year-old Danielle Whitman (of Victoria), was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
