We are happy to report that Alyssia Doyle, who was critically injured during a hit and run in September, is back at home and well on the road to recovery.
As a recap, the two year old had been picking flowers near her family’s mailbox. She stepped off the curb, and before her mom, Jessica Lee, could pull her back a grey sedan struck her. According to WFAA News, Alyssia rolled off the hood and was thrown 50 feet. The vehicle never stopped.
Alyssia spent three weeks at Fort Worth’s Cook Children’s Medical Center. Those were tense times for the family and medical staff – no one was sure if the little one would wake up or suffer long term neurological damage. But she did wake up. And today, she’s back to picking flowers in her yard.
Mineral Wells police have still not made any arrests; however, they are performing lie detector tests on several drivers.
Get well soon, Alyssia!
