MCKINNEY, TX (01/08/2017) — An arrest has been made in the hit and run crash last Sunday which claimed the life of Areli Joyner.

Police reported that at around 6:00 a.m. on January 8th, 24-year-old Mackenzie Rene Chesney caused an accident with another vehicle that carried two occupants: Areli Joyner and 25-year-old Mark Garren.
Joyner was killed in the wreck. Garren, her passenger, survived. His current condition (or whether he received injuries) is unknown.
Chesney was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. Her bail has been set at $300,000.
