SAN ANTONIO, TX (07/16/2016) — A Saturday morning wreck claimed the life of Arturo Elias, and left two others injured.
35-year-old Arturo Elias was killed in a three-vehicle accident that occurred along Interstate 10 near Vance Jackson Road in San Antonio, Texas.
According to KSAT, San Antonio Police reported that at around 4:00 a.m., a driver entered the highway through the Vance Jackson ramp and collided with an oncoming vehicle. After the initial impact, the driver lost control and struck the highway median. A third vehicle, an SUV, then crashed into the two previously wrecked vehicles.
Police reported that two people, a driver and a passenger, were ejected from their vehicle as a result of the accident before being struck by other vehicles in the roadway.
The Medical Examiner has identified Arturo Elias as the deceased victim. At this time, it is unclear as to which vehicle Elias was in at the time of the crash.
Police stated that two other people sustained injuries, and were taken to University Hospital in critical condition. This accident remains under investigation.
Arturo Elias reportedly served in the Unites States Marine Corps for twelve years, and is survived by his wife and 3 children.
