JACKSONVILLE, TX (11/07/2016) — Pedestrian Arvel Partain died following an accident that occurred early Monday morning.
According to the Jacksonville Police Department, 59-year-old Arvel Dwayne Partain (of Jacksonville) was killed in a auto-pedestrian accident that occurred in the 1100 block of Loop 456 (TX-204) near Glenfawn Street in Jacksonville, Texas.
The JPD reported that at around 6:45 a.m., Partain was running on the paved shoulder of the roadway when an approaching Chevrolet passenger vehicle—driven by Colton Renfro (of Rusk)—veered onto the shoulder and struck him.
Partain was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe Renfro may have fallen asleep at the wheel shortly before the accident. An investigation is ongoing.

Police say that the driver was believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel, thus causing this fatal collision.
