ABILENE, TX (09/10/2016) — A Saturday morning wreck claimed the life of Austin McCombs, and injured Joseph Bradley.
According to authorities, 20-year-old Austin Riley McCombs (of Abilene) has died, and 41-year-old Joseph Shane Bradley (of San Angelo) suffered serious injuries following a two-vehicle accident along Highway 277 in Abilene, Texas.
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that shortly before 9:00 a.m., 42-year-old William Allen Adamson was traveling northbound in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when he lost control of his vehicle, veered into the southbound lane, and struck McComb’s 2004 Lexus passenger car.
Austin McCombs was pronounced deceased at the scene. Joseph Bradley, believed to be Adamson’s passenger, was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene for treatment. Adamson was also injured and transported to Hendrick.
An investigation is ongoing.
Commentary
Police have cited wet roads as the leading factor in this accident, however, the driver who caused this wreck still failed to maintain his vehicle in a safe manner and drive to conditions. In regard to any potential criminal charges, we will know more information after the investigation is completed.
