SAN ANGELO, TX (04/26/2016) — Austin Weeds, Ezra Ramirez, and McKenna Bowie all suffered injuries after a major car accident on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the San Angelo Police Department (SAPD), a two-vehicle accident in the 5300 block of Foster Road in San Angelo, Texas injured 29-year-old Ezra Ramirez, 16-year-old Austin Weeds, and 18-year-old McKenna Bowie.
The SAPD reported that at around 3:30 p.m., Bowie was traveling northbound in a 2002 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 at a high rate of speed toward Loop 306 when it lost control and began a broadside skid.
A pickup truck owned by the City of San Angelo—driven by Ramirez—saw the Camaro and attempted an evasive maneuver; however, a collision was unavoidable and the truck t-boned the Camaro’s passengers side door.
The impact forced the City-owned truck to rollover and land on its roof.
Officials stated that Weeds, Bowie’s passenger, underwent emergency surgery and remains hospitalized. Bowie was taken to a nearby area hospital and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit
Ramirez also taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injures.
