LUBBOCK, TX (11/07/2016) — A wrong way accident on Monday claimed the life of Brooke Parker and one other person.
According to authorities, 25-year-old Brooke Parker lost her life following a head-on collision that occurred on Marsha Sharp Freeway near University Avenue in Lubbock, Texas.
Police reported that 36-year-old Louis Marquez was traveling the wrong way on the highway when he struck Parker’s vehicle.
Neither Parker nor Marquez survived the wreckage. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
“The students, staff, and administration of Lubbock-Cooper ISD are deeply saddened to learn of Brooke Parker’s passing. As an Athletic Trainer, Brooke played a vital role in the everyday lives of students at Lubbock-Cooper High School,” read a statement released by Lubbock-Cooper ISD.
This incident remains under investigation.
