TYLER, TX (12/02/2015) — A rear-end crash turned head-on collision killed Candance Randle, and injured 2 others, on Wednesday afternoon.
UPDATE 12/04/2015: According to a DPS employee, 5 year-old Camdyn Randle, who was involved in the crash Wednesday evening, has died.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 30-year-old Candace Randle was killed following a four-vehicle accident along Old Jacksonville Highway (FM 2493) near Toll 49 in Tyler, Texas.
Trooper Jean Dark reported that at around 1:30 p.m., a northbound tan Lexus entered the center turn lane on Old Jacksonville Highway, attempting to turn into business. At the same moment, a southbound Pontiac Vibe, driven by Randle, entered the same shared turn lane from the other direction.
Randle tried to exit the turn lane after seeing the Lexus, but as she moved back into lanes of traffic she was rear-ended by a southbound Dodge Durango. The impact forced the Vibe into northbound traffic, where it was then struck by an oncoming Ford Taurus.
Candace Randle unfortunately did not survive the crash. Her 5-year-old son has been transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Ford Taurus and the passenger in the Pontiac Vibe were both injured. They were taken to nearby area hospitals for treatment.
