LONGVIEW, TX (02/16/2016) — A chain-reaction accident involving three vehicles left Cecilia and Monica Wood injured on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Longview police, 76-year-old Cecilia Wood and 53-year-old Monica J. Wood were both injured a three-vehicle collision that occurred in the 500 block of Eastman Road in Longview, Texas.
Police reported that at around 1:30 p.m., a 2011 Dodge pickup truck—driven by 23-year-old Beau Garrett Brewer—changed lanes at an unsafe time and collided with another pickup truck, driven by 29-year-old Charles Rushing.
The impact caused Rushing’s vehicle to spin out of control and into the path of a third vehicle, a 2006 Saturn Ion driven by Cecilia Wood.
Wood was transported to the Good Shepherd Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Her passenger, Monica, was taken to Longview Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Brewer was issued a citation for changing lanes when unsafe.
