FORT WORTH, TX (01/08/2017) — A hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning claimed the life of Cecilia Rodriguez.
Police identified 56-year-old Cecilia Rodriguez (also reported as Cecilia Palos de Valdez), of Fort Worth, as the victim of a two-vehicle accident that occurred in the 2600 block of Azle Avenue in Fort Worth, Texas.Officials reported that just minutes after midnight, a red pickup truck collided with a silver Honda passenger vehicle at the intersection of Azle Avenue and Menefee Avenue, and came to rest on a curb. Police believe the pickup driver after either ran a stop sign, or didn’t see the other vehicle.
Rodriguez, a grandmother who was heading home from a family quincinera, was a passenger in the Honda. She was transferred to an area hospital, but succumbed to her injuries shortly later.
Unfortunately, the two people in the red pickup truck fled the scene after the incident. An investigating is underway, although police have not yet released descriptions of the suspects.
