ABILENE, TX (06/30/2016) — A head-on accident left one woman dead and two men hospitalized on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 52-year-old Angela Lynn Adkins is dead, and 48-year-old Charles Leslie Dixon and 62-year-old Bruce Waylon Foreman both remain hospitalized after a wrong way accident which occurred along Highway 351 in Abilene, Texas.
DPS reported that at around 3:25 p.m., 52-year-old Angela Lynn Adkins was traveling northbound in a maroon 2008 Pontiac GT when she attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone.
As she attempted to overtake the vehicle in front of her, she swerved back into her lane to avoid a collision with an oncoming vehicle. This maneuver caused the Pontiac to return to the southbound lanes where it stuck a white 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe—driven by Foreman—head-on.
Adkins was pronounced dead at the scene.
Charles Dixon (Adkins’ passenger) and Bruce Foreman were both was taken to Hendrick Medical Center. Dixon remains in critical condition. Foreman was listed in serious condition.
This crash remains under investigation.
Commentary
