ARLINGTON, TX (05/29/2014) — 7-month-old David Bingenheimer has been killed after a chain reaction car accident on Thursday morning.
According to reports, the unfortunate accident occurred at around 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of California Lane and South Cooper Street in Arlington, Texas.
The police say that the driver of a maroon truck was making a turn from northbound Cooper Street onto California Lane and struck an oncoming white Chrysler 300. Witnesses reported that a Chrysler 300 “ran a red light,” and struck the rear of a maroon pickup truck. The pickup truck subsequently struck a father holding a baby stroller who was on the curb, waiting to cross in the crosswalk. Police have not yet charged any of the drivers, and it is still unclear which vehicle had the right of way.
Tragically, 7-month-old David Bingenheimer was pronounced dead at the scene. The man pushing the stroller, as well as both drivers, were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It’s important to note that this is a breaking story, and witness reports may be inaccurate. Police say that they are still actively investigating the cause of the accident, and have not yet released the identities of those involved.
