KILGORE, TX (03/18/2018) — 19-year-old Dakota Patrick Harris and 79-year-old Mary Virginia Cameron have died following a head-on crash on the Hwy 259 Bypass Sunday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene of an accident located on the Highway 259 bypass (Charles Devall parkway), just north of FM 349, at around 3:58 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
According to a preliminary investigation, Cameron was driving a black 2009 Nissan Sentra southbound when her car crossed over into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck Harris’ dark blue 1999 Saturn sedan head-on.
Dakota Harris was transported via air ambulance (life-flight) to CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances hospital in Tyler in critical condition. Mary Cameron was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center Longview in critical condition. Tragically, both later Harris and Cameron later died from their injuries.
