CARTHAGE, TX (10/15/2016) — An accident on Saturday claimed the life of sisters Dana Michelle Bass and Melissa Lynn Blakeney McCary.
According to authorities, 33-year-old Dana Michelle Bass and 35-year-old Melissa Lynn Blakeney McCary (both of Carthage) were killed in a two-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of FM 699 and Loop 436 in Carthage, Texas.
Carthage Assistant Police Chief Blake Smith reported that 23-year-old Zedrik Grace was traveling northbound on Loop 436 (LaSalle Parkway) in a Key Energy Services truck when he collided with the vehicle occupied by Bass and McCary as they crossed the loop via FM 699 (Forsythe Street).
Neither McCary nor Bass survived the wreckage. Grace was reportedly uninjured.
This accident remains under investigation.
