HOUSTON, TX (02/22/2016) — Darlene Knish was killed on Monday morning as a result of a head-on, multi-vehicle accident.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office identified Darlene Knish as the victim of a fatal head-on collision that occurred in the 14000 block of FM 529 (Spencer Road) in Houston, Texas.
Officials reported that at around 6:30 a.m. on Monday morning, Knish was traveling eastbound along FM 529 when her vehicle was struck by 2004 Ford F-150—driven by Felix DeJesus—exiting a private drive.
The impact forced Knish’s vehicle to veer directly into the path of a Cy-Fair ISD school bus. The two vehicles collided head-on at the intersection of FM 529 and Jackrabbit Road.
Knish was extracted from the vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries.
This accident remains under investigation by the Traffic Enforcement Division of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
There’s no word on whether or not any charges have been filed against the at-fault driver, and there were no children on the bus at the time of the accident.
