PILOT POINT, TX (03/22/2015) — 70-year-old David Knighton has been killed following the negligent actions of another driver on US 377.
According to authorities, 70-year-old David Knighton, of Sanger, was riding his 2015 BMW motorcycle southbound on U.S. Highway 377 when he was involved in a fatal accident at around 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening. According to reports, the driver of a northbound Chevy Trailblazer failed to yield before making a left turn onto Gee Street. As the other driver turned left across southbound lanes, Mr. Knighton struck the front of the SUV.
David Knighton, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was transported to Denton Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after 6:00 p.m.
According to Pilot Point police, the driver of the 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer (45-year-old Mark Rushing of Pilot Point) has not been charged with a crime as of yet. The accident is still under investigation.
