April 14, 2011 – Donte Johnson has passed away.
What started as a fist fight in a DeSoto apartment complex turned deadly when one man entered his car and drove through the crowd – running over a 12 year old bystander.
As WFAA reports, 17 year old Dominique Hemphill was part of a fight that broke out at the Brookhollow apartments in DeSoto, TX. After the initial fight ended, cell phone footage shows Hemphill nearing his car and being attacked from behind. After escaping, Hemphill jumped in his car and drove through the crowd of fighters and onlookers, clipping one teenager and then running over 12 year old Donte Johnson.
Johnson, known to his neighborhood as “D.J.”, suffered severe head injuries that left him in a coma.
