The driver of a cargo truck carrying pet food died Tuesday when his 18-wheeler overturned on Interstate 35 in DeSoto.
Investigators haven’t released much information, but apparently the southbound semi-truck hit a light pole and overturned into the northbound lanes (although not necessarily in that order). It also appears that another vehicle was involved, an SUV. The cause of the crash hasn’t been determined yet, nor has the identity of the deceased been released to the public.
18-wheeler accidents are always serious. North Texas has seen a high number of them in recent months. In April, Teen Challenge founder David Wilkerson died when his vehicle hit a tractor-trailer head on. Two months later, Mesquite educators James and Leah Eason passed away when they rear ended a stopped 18-wheeler on I-30.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of yesterday’s fatal accident.
