Last night near midnight in Dallas, a drunk driver broke a family apart when his speeding pick-up truck crashed into a young family’s PT cruiser. Matthew Wayne Moore, 26, had sped through a red light and hit the PT Cruiser so hard that the car spun out of control. The vehicle hit a fire hydrant and a wooden utility pole.
In PT Cruiser was 25-year-old driver Jeremy Price, passenger Kellilynne Seaman and a 7-month-old baby boy who was in a car seat in the back. Price died of his injuries at Parkland Hospital and Seaman was in critical condition after she sustained a serious head injury. Miraculously, the baby was uninjured and was taken to Children’s Medical Center in good condition.
Moore, despite failing field sobriety tests, insisted that he had only had one beer. He has since been arrested for intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
Update: It was previously reported by us that police stated he was more worried about his pet dog following the wreck than the victims, this was incorrect. Witnesses at the scene were the source of this statement. We apologize for any harm or inconvenience this may have caused.
