A Dallas road worker is in serious condition after a suspected drunk driver drove into a coned off area and hit him.
The second road-worker related accident this week, this wreck occurred around 3:30 this morning. The driver – who police arrested after determining he was impaired via a sobriety test – was driving his Honda eastbound on I-30 at the time. As he approached the coned off area near St. Francis Avenue, he drifted away from the open lanes and struck a construction worker. Witnesses report the impact was so severe it launched the worker 15 feet into the air.
Police arrested the driver, and he faces an Intoxication Assault charge. The condition of the injured road worker is not known.
