LOS FRESNOS, TX (11/29/2015) — A man was charged with intoxication manslaughter after he caused an accident that killed Eber Antonio Flores Rivera early Sunday morning.
Police have identified 29-year-old Eber Antonio Flores Rivera (of Brownsville) as the victim of a drunk driving accident that occurred at the intersection of Henderson Road and Cuates Drive in Los Fresnos, Texas.
According to authorities, 32-year-old Jose Luis Sanchez II crashed his black Chevrolet Silverado into a ditch and the vehicle became submerged in the resaca.
Sanchez survived the incident, but his passenger, Eber Rivera, did not. Firefighters discovered Rivera’s body early Monday morning.
Police reported that Sanchez was arraigned on Tuesday on an intoxication manslaughter charge and has been ordered to wear a monitoring bracelet. His bond has been set at $50,000.

The likelihood that a fatal drunk driving accident will occur is 4.5 times higher at night than at any other time of day. Not only do we urge drivers to find other means of transportation after drinking, but you should also report any noticeable drunk drivers to the authorities as soon as you can. It could save a life.
