FORT WORTH, TX (01/10/2016) — Edgar Valenzuela was killed, and two others were injured, in a rollover accident on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities have identified 20-year-old Edgar Valenzuela as the victim of a fatal car accident along East Loop 820 at Ramey Avenue in Fort Worth, Texas.
Police reported that at around 5:30 p.m., the female driver of a Dodge pickup truck—who has not yet been identified—lost control of her vehicle after trying to avoid a collision with a the vehicle in front of her which suddenly hit the brakes.
“The [Dodge] driver lost control of her truck and began to swerve, colliding with the metal guardrail and causing the pickup to flip several times,” officer Daniel Segura, a Fort Worth police spokesman, said.
Edgar Valenzuela, who was passenger in the backseat of the Dodge, was ejected and died at the scene.
A second male occupant of the vehicle was also ejected and transported to Texas Harris Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the pickup truck was hospitalized and remains in serious condition.
