Family and friends are mourning the death of Eric Allen, who was killed by a drunk driver Monday evening.
According to the San Antonio police, Eric Allen was making a left turn on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, about 7 p.m. Monday, when 31-year-old Hector Lopez ran a red light in his BMW SUV colliding with Allen.
Allen was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he died.
On the scene, SAPD officers determined Lopez was intoxicated at the time of the fatal accident and arrested him. He is currently facing second and third degree felonies charges.
According to public records, this wasn’t Lopez’s first arrest for driving while intoxicated. He was arrested in 2008 for DWI but the case was dismissed due to the absence of a witness.
