NACOGDOCHES, TX (06/15/2015) — 69-year-old Blanca Abrego-Gonzalez was killed in a two-vehicle accident at intersection of Highway 7 and FM 2782 in Nacogdoches, Texas on Monday afternoon.
According to reports, an accident at the intersection of Highway 7 and FM 2782 claimed the life of Blanca Abrego-Gonzalez, of Douglass, on Monday at 12:20 p.m. in Nacogdoches, Texas.
A preliminary crash investigation indicated that 38-year-old Joe Stephen Howell was traveling eastbound on Highway 7 in a 2015 Chevrolet truck when a southbound 2005 GMC Yukon—driven by 41-year-old Violeta Sanchez—crashed into his vehicle.
According to reports, Sanchez failed to yield right of way at a stop sign on FM 2782.
Howell was transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital for possible treatment; Sanchez and her passenger, Abrego-Gonzalez, were also transported to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.
Blanca Abrego-Gonzalez was later pronounced dead at the hospital, shortly after 1:00 p.m.
This crash remains under investigation.
