AUBREY, TX (07/04/2014) — Two children and three adults have been hospitalized following a Friday afternoon head-on car accident on West Sherman Drive.
According to Aubrey police Sgt. David Bruce, the two-vehicle accident occurred when a female driver in a westbound silver Nissan crossed the center lane marker and veered into the path of an eastbound white Lexus. The collision occurred in the 1800 block of West Sherman Drive (FM 428), about a mile east of Blackjack Road.
The driver of the Nissan and her two children (sisters, aged 5 and 8) were taken by air ambulance (CareFlite) to Parkland Memorial Hospital and Children’s Medical Center Dallas. The driver of the Lexus was CareFlited to a hospital as well. A passenger who was in the Lexus was also hospitalized. At least one person had to be extricated from the wreckage.
As of Sunday, July 6th, the two children remain hospitalized in “very serious” condition at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. The driver of the Nissan and the passenger in the Lexus also remain hospitalized. The driver of the Lexus has since been discharged.
