JEFFERSON, TX (07/06/2015) — David Roe, Stacey Roe, Anna Roe, a 12-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old girl were injured following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 49 in East Texas.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), five people were injured, and one woman died, after a crash on Highway 49 near Jefferson, Texas on Monday afternoon.
A preliminary crash investigation indicated that at around 2:00 p.m., Bonnie Jenkins exited a private driveway and turned onto Highway 49. During the turn, Jenkins pulled in front of a minivan that was unable to avoid colliding with the driver’s side door of Jenkins’ vehicle.
Judge Lena Pope pronounced Jenkins dead at the scene; her body was taken to Haggard Funeral Home.
Three of the five occupants of the minivan have been identified:
- David Roe, 63, of Conawa.
- Stacey Roe, 35, of Conawa.
- Anna Roe, 64, of Conawa.
- A 12-year-old girl, of Conawa.
- A 16-year-old girl, of Conawa.
All the occupants of the minivan were transported to a Longview area hospital for treatment; their current conditions are unknown.
