VICTORIA, TX (06/20/2015) — Former Victoria High School tennis coach Fred Kaspar was killed after his vehicle was broadsided by 26-year-old Thomas Smith.
According to Victoria police, Fred Kaspar died early Saturday morning following an accident at the intersection of Houston Highway (U.S. 59T Business) and Ben Wilson Street in Victoria, Texas.
Authorities have stated that around 6:45 a.m., Kaspar was traveling eastbound along Houston Highway when he was T-boned by a westbound vehicle traveling along Ben Wilson Street. The driver of the westbound vehicle has been identified as 26-year-old Thomas Smith.
Kaspar was transported to a nearby area hospital where he was pronounced dead. Smith and his 31-year-old passenger, Leticia Delagarza, were not injured in the crash.
No citations have been issued as the incident remains under investigation.
According to reports, Fred Kaspar was a former Victoria High School tennis coach. Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening at Rosewood Funeral Chapel.
