Balch Springs, Texas — Glenn Whitwell & Ronda Whitwell, an elderly couple from Joshua, were killed Thursday evening (11/07/2013) in a car accident.
According to police, 74-year-old Ronda Whitwell and 79-year-old Glenn Whitwell were driving their Honda CRV southbound on I-635 (LBJ), took the exit for eastbound I-20, and were involved in a 2-vehicle accident on said exit ramp at about 7:40 p.m.
Police and first responders arrived shortly after and transported Ronda Whitwell by air ambulance (possible CareFlite) to Methodist Hospital. Unfortunately Mrs. Whitwell did not survive. Glenn Whitwell was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the 2nd vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, was reportedly uninjured. Police have not yet said whether any charges would be filed.
Unfortunately in an accident such as this, there may only be one witness — the driver of the silver Toyota Corolla. Since the witness is not a “neutral witness,” an independent investigation is of course very important in order for grieving family members to know what really happened that night. There may be a dashcam video, video from a highway traffic camera, or even other witnesses.
