GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (02/16/2015) — 34-year-old Guadalupe Alvarado, of Grand Prairie, passed away Tuesday evening due to injuries sustained in a Monday morning car accident.
According to reports, Guadalupe Alvarado was traveling eastbound on Royal Valley Road when she was involved in an accident at the intersection of South Carrier Parkway. Alvarado had attempted to turn north onto S. Carrier Pkwy when her 1999 Nissan Altima was struck on the driver’s side by a 1989 Jeep Cherokee headed southbound.
The accident, which occurred at around 8:00 a.m., sent Guadalupe Alvarado to the Medical Center of Arlington with critical injuries. Unfortunately, Ms. Alvarado passed away Tuesday night. The driver of the Jeep, 19-year-old Miguel Olalde, was uninjured in the crash.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, and no charges were reported to have been filed at this point. Guadalupe Alvarado’s death marks the second traffic fatality in Grand Prairie, Texas in 2015.
