ORANGE, TX (08/03/2015) — Three people were injured and hospitalized after a two-vehicle, head-on crash along FM 1006 on Monday morning.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Shannon Lewandowski, 46, Monty Klinkerman, 47, and Dwayne Moyer were all injured on Monday after a two-vehicle, head-on crash on FM 1006 near the DuPont plant in Orange County, Texas.
DPS Trooper Stephanie Davis stated that at around 9:00 a.m., a white Ford pickup (driven by Lewandowski) was traveling northbound on FM 1006 when it crossed into southbound traffic and struck a black Chevrolet pickup truck head-on.
Due to the impact, Lewandowski was trapped in the Ford and had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was then flown to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth with serious injuries to her lower extremities.
According to Trooper Davis, the driver of the Chevy pickup (Monty Klinkerman of Huffman, Texas) suffered a head injury; however, the extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.
Klinkerman’s passenger, Dwayne Moyer, suffered minor injuries. He has since been treated and released from St. Elizabeth hospital.
Troopers continue to investigate this crash.
