CLEBURNE, TX (05/10/2015) — A head-on collision in Cleburne left 24-year-old Ashley Coffin and 38-year-old Jason Hill dead, and injured two others on Sunday night.
According to police, a head-on collision in Cleburne, Texas claimed the lives of two victims: 24-year-old Ashley Coffin, of Rio Vista, and 38-year-old Jason Hill, of Keene. The accident occurred at around 7:00 p.m. on Sunday near the intersection of Texas 174 and Old Foamy Road.
According to reports, a flatbed truck and a Dodge Ram crashed into each other head-on. While the cause of the accident is still under investigation, the driver of the flatbed truck admitted to rescue workers that he had been drinking earlier in the day.
Ashley Coffin, the female passenger in the Dodge Ram, died at the scene. Jason Hill, the driver, died about an hour later at a Fort Worth area hospital.
Cleburne Fire Chief Clint Ishmael stated that Hill and Coffin’s three children—two boys and girl, all under the age of four—were also in the Dodge Ram. They were taken to local hospitals, but did not seem to suffer any serious injuries. The two boys were reported to be Coffin’s sons, while the youngest is the daughter of Coffin and Hill.
The two passengers in the flatbed truck, a 30-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, were also transported to nearby hospitals; their injuries were minor.
