BRONTE, TX (09/12/2015) — A head-on wreck on Saturday morning killed Stover Taylor, and injured three others.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a two-vehicle wreck along Highway 277 on Saturday morning in Bronte, Texas killed 74-year-old Stover Wayne Taylor and injured three others: Misti Taylor Bedford, 44, and Patsy Ann Bedford, and Jerita Michaels Taylor, both 69.
DPS stated that at around 11:39 a.m., 21-year-old Gage Johnson McDonald was traveling southbound in a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado when he attempted to pass an oversize load vehicle and struck a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban—driven by 46-year-old David Ray Bedford—head-on.
Stover Taylor, a passenger in the Suburban, was transported to Shannon Medical Center, where he later died.
Misti Bedford, Patsy Bedford, and Jerita Taylor—who were also passengers in the Suburban—were taken to Shannon Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
McDonald, David Bedford, and 75-year-old Everett Weldon Bedford all escaped injury.
According to DPS Public Information Officer Justin Baker, McDonald was issued a citation for unsafe passing.
