Police are searching for the individual who ran over 70-year-old Jerry Winton in a parking lot Saturday.
According to CBS News, Jerry and the suspect were involved in a minor fender bender near the corner of Weiler Road and Meadowbrook Drive and pulled over to exchange information. Both individuals exited their vehicles to discuss the accident. Police report that the suspect then returned to his vehicle and attempted to flee while Jerry held on. The elderly man was dragged to the perimeter of the parking lot where the suspect than hit and ran over him. Jerry passed away from his injuries at John Peter Smith Hospital.
We talk a lot on this blog about personal responsibility – owning up for mistakes and malicious wrong doings alike. It’s bad enough to flee from a minor fender bender; it’s unacceptable to kill someone in the process. The personal injury attorneys at the Rasansky Law Firm encourage the driver who fled to scene to turn himself in and take responsibility.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Jerry’s wife, son, and all those his life touched.
Drive safely, Dallas.
