AUSTIN, TX (10/05/2015) — One man faces possible charges after causing a three-vehicle wreck, which claimed the life of Homero Segovia on Monday.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 23-year-old Homero Segovia was killed on Monday morning after a multi-vehicle car accident on Highway 183 near FM 812 in Austin, Texas.
DPS reported that at around 7:00 a.m., 37-year-old Ryan Tanner was traveling southbound in a pickup truck when he veered into the northbound lanes and clipped a passenger vehicle. The collision caused the passenger vehicle to spin out of control.
After the initial impact, Tanner struck another pickup truck—driven by Segovia—head-on.
According to authorities, Segovia died at the scene.
Tanner was transported to University Medical Center at Brackenridge, where he remains in critical condition.
This fatal wreck remains under investigation.
