HOUSTON, TX (10/29/2016) — A drunk driving accident in the early hours of Saturday morning claimed the lives of two people, and left three others injured.
According to authorities, a man and woman—who have not yet been identified—were killed in a multi-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of FM 1960 and Imperial Valley Drive in Houston, Texas.
Police reported that at around 2:30 a.m., 21-year-old Forrest Vaughn (of Spring) was traveling in a black 1984 Chevrolet pickup truck, when he failed to stop at a red light and collided with three vehicles: a gray 2008 Honda Accord (driven by Lucis Cerrato-Gonzalez), a gray 2008 Honda Fit (driven by Djamil Goudiary), and a blue Yamaha motorcycle (occupied by a man and woman).
“Based on the roadway evidence, it appears he tried to drive between the two stopped cars and the motorcycle, unsuccessfully,” said Sgt. S. Wolverton with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office traffic enforcement division.
The two occupants of the Yamaha were ejected, and did not survive the wreckage. Goudiary, along with 2 passengers, sustained minor injuries; Cerrato-Gonzalez was not injured.
Vaughn was arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
